A 23-year-old man died Sunday morning, shortly after midnight, after being struck by a car on the ramp from westbound J. Turner Butler Boulevard to Belfort Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a 24-year-old woman driving a sedan was traveling on the off-ramp. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old pedestrian was walking on the ramp.
As the woman continued driving down the ramp, the man appeared in the travel lane right in front of her car, and she was unable to avoid hitting him, troopers said.
The 23-year-old man from Buffalo, New York, died at the scene.
