An ATV crash in Santa Rosa County left a 23-year-old Brewton woman dead and four others injured, including two young children, on Saturday night.
Troopers say the crash happened at 6:55 p.m. on Lakefield Lane at 2817 Lakefield Lane in Jay.
A side-by-side ATV was traveling east on Lakefield Lane when it drifted onto the southern shoulder,” according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the operator overcorrected, causing the ATV to overturn onto its roof.
The 23-year-old Brewton woman was ejected and was declared dead a short time later, according to FHP.
Troopers say a 45-year-old female driver from Jay suffered minor injuries.
Three other passengers also suffered minor injuries: a 67-year-old woman from Brewton, a 2-year-old girl from Brewton, and a 1-year-old boy from Brewton, according to FHP.
FHP Traffic Homicide is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the crash.
