26-year-old pedestrian struck by Ford Expedition in Belle Glade dies from injuries

A 26-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered after being struck by an SUV in Belle Glade while walking on a rural roadway last week.

According to a crash report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, J was walking in the inside southbound lane near the 2200 block of North Main Street around 11:40 p.m. on July 9 when he was hit.

Investigators said a Ford Expedition was traveling southbound on the same roadway when it struck J head-on.

J was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center with serious injuries. He later died at 3:31 p.m. Friday while receiving care at VITAS Healthcare Inpatient Hospice Care.
