26-year-old Satsuma woman dead after colliding with tree in Putnam County

A 26-year-old Satsuma woman died after colliding with a tree on Old US-17 near Tompkins Road in Putnam County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The car was travelling westbound on the road and for unknown reasons, it crossed over the south shoulder where it went into the tree line and struck a tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Putnam County Fire & Rescue.

The FHP said this crash is still under investigation.
