Pickup truck kills 52-year-old Palatka man, injures 1.

The crash occurred at intersection of Towles Avenue and Robinson Avenue on Palatka’s Northside Wednesday night.

A pickup truck hit two pedestrians standing next to a ride-on lawnmower in Palatka, killing a a 52-year-old Palatka man, according to a Florida Highway patrol report.

The victim and a 46-year-old Palatka man were standing next to a ride-on lawnmower in the eastbound lane on Towles Avenue East of Robinson Avenue, the report said. The truck then attempted to pass both pedestrians, striking them both. 

Both pedestrians were transported to the local hospital for their injuries. The victim was taken to HCA Orange Park Hospital and pronounced dead, and the 46-year-old man was released from hospital with minor injuries.
