Three people involved in an Escambia County crash were taken to a hospital Wednesday evening.
Escambia County EMS and Fire Rescue arrived to the intersection of West Fairfield Drive and Hollywood Avenue in response to the three-vehicle crash around 7 p.m.
Florida Highway Patrol says a 27-year-old Pensacola man was critically hurt in the crash. He was driving on Fairfield Drive when the rear of his sedan collided with the front-end of an SUV while attempting a turn onto Hollywood Ave.
He kept driving through the intersection after the first collision when another sedan crashed into the front-end of his vehicle. In that sedan was a 21-year-old Pensacola man with a 20-year-old Pensacola woman as his passenger. Both were seriously injured.
The county says one vehicle, located in the woods, was on fire. Fire Rescue put out the flames at approximately 7:05 p.m.
According to the county, two out of the three patients were trauma alerts. The scene is still active.
