65-year-old man hit, killed on US 1 in St. Johns County: Florida Highway Patrol

A 65-year-old man was hit by a car and killed early Tuesday morning on U.S. 1 in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the car, driven by a 54-year-old woman from St. Augustine, was headed south on U.S. 1 and struck the man near Old Dixie Highway at 1 a.m.

The driver, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, stopped at the scene.

The pedestrian, who is also from St. Augustine, died from his injuries.

Troopers did not release any other information about the crash.
