A 74-year-old man on a motorized scooter was hit by a car and killed Monday, the Melbourne Police Department said.
It happened at 1:30 p.m. in the area of Sarno Road and Apollo Boulevard, MPD said.
When officers arrived, they found the driver of the motorized scooter on the ground. He had significant injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he died. He has been identified as Court Neil Allen Goodwin of Melbourne.
MPD said Goodwin was driving north on Apollo, making a left turn onto Sarno, when a 2004 Toyota made a right turn, striking the motorized scooter.
