74-year-old Old Town man dies after crashing into tree

A 74-year-old man from Old Town is dead following a crash in Levy County, according to FHP officials.

State troopers say the man was driving an SUV on County Road 345 near the intersection of Northwest 100th Street in Chiefland.

He drove off the road and flipped over, hitting a tree.

The crash happened just before 1:00 p.m. Officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
