80-year-old Port St. Lucie man dies from injuries after June rollover crash

An elderly Port St. Lucie man succumbed to his injuries after a June rollover crash on St. James Drive.

At around 8:30 p.m. on June 19, an officer with the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) responded to the intersection of NW St. James Drive and NW Manville Street for a two-vehicle rollover crash.

According to officers, the silver Mitsubishi driven by G was attempting to turn north across traffic onto NW St. James Drive from NW Manville Drive when he failed to yield for a 4-door Infiniti driven by a woman traveling southbound on NW St. James Drive, causing the crash.

The Infiniti subsequently rolled over and came to rest in the center median, per PSLPD.

G was seriously injured and airlifted to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he was rushed into surgery and remained in unstable condition.

G later succumbed to his injuries at 2 a.m. on Sunday.

Officers urge anyone with information on the crash to contact the investigator on the case at (772) 871-5001 or call Treasure Coast Crimestoppers at (800) 273-8477.
