The Florida Highway Patrol said a man died after an SUV crashed into a tree off a Bradford County roadway and caught on fire on Tuesday morning.
Officials said around 2 a.m., an SUV was traveling south on Southeast 109th Street, heading towards Southeast 45th Avenue.
FHP said the car exited the roadway on the west shoulder and the driver overcorrected when reentering the travel lane, causing the car to rotate counterclockwise while exiting the roadway on the east shoulder.
The car continued traveling off the west shoulder and struck a tree.
Investigators said the car caught on fire with him still trapped inside. The driver died at the scene.
