A 13-year-old boy with autism has died, days after his grandmother died in an apartment fire in Hollywood, his family confirmed.
Authorities said TM died Monday, while his grandmother, PM, died last week and his father, AM, remains hospitalized.
The fire was reported around 3 a.m. Wednesday at the family’s apartment building, located at 415 S. Ocean Drive.
Hollywood Fire Rescue officials said crews arrived at the scene and found an injured man outside the building who was asking for help.
Firefighters then began extinguishing the fire while simultaneously bringing out P and TM from their apartment unit.
Firefighters confirmed that all three victims were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital. PM died later that day from her injuries.
Police said A and TM were transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Burn Center in Miami due to the severity of their burns.
While T has since passed, A M’s condition has not been released.
