The Lynn Haven Police Department has arrested a Bay District Schools bus driver with Child Abuse.
According to a Lynn Haven Police Department Facebook post, authorities had received a report through the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center about a child being struck by a school bus driver.
Authorities said that during the investigation, they learned that on May 13, SH was working as a bus driver and during the afternoon drop-off time, she allegedly slapped a child with an open hand on the back.
The slap resulted in marks on the child that lasted for more than 48 hours. The incident was reported to the Florida Department of Children and Families in its institutional division.
Authorities said that the allegations were sustained as they continued to investigate and the child victim was provided services through the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center. While obtaining services, the incident was reported to law enforcement.
Warrants were obtained for Halloran and she was arrested by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
