Woman, 60, dies in rollover crash on SR-44 in DeLand

A 60-year-old Port Orange woman died Wednesday in a rollover crash in DeLand, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on State Road 44, east of Prevatt Avenue.

Troopers said the woman was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado east on S.R. 44 and was weaving through traffic when she lost control of the pickup truck, which went off the roadway and overturned.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.

There was a roadblock in place for the eastbound lanes of S.R. 44, but they were later reopened.

No other details have been released.
