Motorcyclist, 65, dies in Nassau County after 14-year-old drives ATV wrong way, crashes into bike: Florida Highway Patrol

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 65-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after an ATV that was being driven in the wrong direction by a 14-year-old crashed into his bike in Nassau County.

FHP said the crash took place in Hilliard just before 3 p.m. while the ATV was heading south on Mulberry Landing Road, traveling along the wrong side of an unmarked, dirt two-lane road.

The motorcycle was heading north on the same road when the front of the ATV crashed into the bike’s left side.

Medical personnel said the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The ATV’s driver had minor injuries but did not require transport to the hospital, FHP said.

Troopers also said that charges in this incident are pending once the investigation is completed.
