Vehicle rollover in DeFuniak Springs causes power outage, investigation underway

 A single-vehicle rollover accident on Bob Sikes Road in DeFuniak Springs led to a power outage and road blockage Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 9:22 a.m. when the vehicle veered off the road, struck a power pole, and overturned, coming to rest on its roof, according to the City of DeFuniak Springs Fire Department.

Emergency crews executed extrication procedures to assist those involved.

Emergency utility crews from Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc., and officers from the Office of the City Marshal, DeFuniak Springs Police, were also dispatched to the scene.

Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the accident.
