Four people were injured when an SUV collided with a structural pillar of a building in Volusia County on Wednesday, the Volusia Professional Firefighters Association said.
At least nine units responded to the accident. Upon arrival, first responders initiated extrication efforts, using the jaws of life and cutters to reach the victims stuck inside the vehicle.
Two trauma alerts were issued. One was for an adult patient and one was for a pediatric patient. Both were transported to a local trauma center.
The other two individuals were taken to a nearby hospital.
