Bay County inmate receives additional charges after biting a Sergeant

Bay County inmate receives additional charges after biting a Sergeant

An inmate at the Bay County Jail is facing additional charges after he reportedly refused to re-enter a dorm in which he was being housed.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, around 10:30 a.m. on July 14, inmate J H was being transported back into C dorm at the Jail.

As the Sergeant tried to place H in the dorm, he reportedly began arguing and refusing to go back into the dorm. The Sergeant said they attempted again, and H grabbed onto the bars and refused to let go.

BCSO officials said when the Sergeant attempted to pull H off the bars, he bit the Sergeant on his left forearm.

The bite was so deep that there was a visible outline of each tooth on the Sergeant’s forearm.

H was secured in the dorm, and the Sergeant was seen by medical personnel and then sent to a local hospital for additional treatment.

H now faces an additional charge of Aggravated Battery on an Officer, firefighter, or EMT.
