Residents living near Airport Road and Cooper Street in Punta Gorda woke up to a terrifying scene Wednesday night: a naked woman screaming for help, as a man rode away on a bicycle.
Charlotte County deputies said ATJr. broke into the woman’s home late Wednesday night. According to investigators, T stood over the victim, who had been sleeping unclothed and asked to take a shower.
The victim told deputies the suspect became violent, slamming her to the ground twice, and tried to break her back. She managed to escape the home and ran outside, still naked, where a neighbor and people driving by saw her chasing after the suspect. A driver called 911.
Deputies were able to track down and arrest T a short time later on Padula Street. He is now facing charges of burglary and battery.
