Emergency vehicles were on the scene of a crash involving a JSO cruiser on I-295 North at Normandy Boulevard on Jacksonville’s Westside Monday afternoon.
As of 1:45 p.m., all lanes of I-295 North were blocked in the area. By 6:30, two lanes were open, but emergency crews were still working to clear the scene and traffic was backed up.
A video from the scene showed a damaged Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office cruiser.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, multiple vehicles were involved, including a JSO patrol car and a JSO community service officer’s vehicle. The community service officer was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
