A plane crash was reported at the Inverness Airport Thursday afternoon.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said the plane crashed into a fence as the pilot was attempting to take off.
Officials described the aircraft as a “small, private plane.” One person who was onboard the plane was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, according to authorities.
The sheriff’s office said deputies and crews with Citrus County Fire Rescue were still on scene around 7:30 p.m.
People were asked to avoid the area as first responders cleared the scene.
