A man was shot after allegedly charging at a woman with a machete in Escambia County on Thursday evening.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says the man and woman were fighting before deputies responded to a shots fired call on Shell Road and Cascade Drive around 8 p.m.
According to the sheriff’s office, the two separated after fighting but the man returned with a machete. When he charged at her with the weapon in hand, the woman drew a gun on him.
Deputies say the woman shot him in response. The man was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound.
No further details are available. An investigation is ongoing.
