A man, 58, and his female passenger, 46, died Friday morning after the pickup truck they were traveling in veered off the road and crashed into a semi-truck in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on I-75 North.
Troopers added that the semi-truck was parked on the right shoulder of the highway, facing a “northerly direction” when the front of the pickup truck hit its left rear.
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were each from Homestead, Florida, the agency said.
FHP said the semi-truck’s driver was not injured in the crash.
