Motorcyclist killed, 2 injured in Palm Coast crash, Florida Highway Patrol says

A man was killed and two others were hurt in a crash Friday night on U.S. 1 in Palm Coast, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the road’s intersection with Whiteview Parkway, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, a sedan was in the southbound left turn lane of U.S. 1 — driven by a 38-year-old Palm Coast man with a 73-year-old Palm Coast man riding as a passenger — while a 35-year-old Palm Coast riding a motorcycle traveled north on U.S. 1.

The sedan entered the intersection as its driver attempted to turn onto Whiteview Parkway, the report states. The front of the motorcycle then struck the right side of the sedan, troopers said.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike in the crash, according to the report. He suffered fatal injuries while the other two men suffered minor injuries, the report states.

Troopers believe the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet during the crash, as well as that the occupants of the sedan were wearing seat belts.
