Two men were treated for smoke inhalation after an early-morning mobile home fire in Brooksville on Saturday, Hernando County Fire Rescue said.

Crews responded to a home on Golddust Road at around 5:30 a.m. and were met with heavy smoke coming from the front bedroom of the mobile home.

Firefighters were able to get the flames under control within a few hours, and HCFR said all of the home’s occupants were able to escape before crews arrived.

Two men were treated for smoke inhalation, and one was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. No other injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, HCFR said.
