A woman was left bloodied Wednesday after a West Palm Beach man allegedly attacked her with a piece of fence.
Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) say they responded to the 600 block of 51st Street on Wednesday for reports of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Deputies say they arrived around 7 p.m. and met the victim with blood covering her head, chest, arms, and hands.
She told law enforcement that she was sitting on a utility box near the sidewalk with her friend when a man, later identified as 36-year-old MG, approached and demanded she leave his property.
The victim refused, which led Gaines to kick her, causing her to fall from the box, according to the criminal probable cause affidavit. Fearing for her life, she ran from G as he chased her and hit her multiple times with a piece of a fence.
She was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with severe injuries to her head, arms, wrists, and hands.
Shortly after, contact was made with G, who acknowledged the incident but claimed he was defending himself and his property, per PBSO.
Deputies say they found probable cause to book G for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
