Walton County Fire officials responded to a structure fire on Monday. It happened near County Hwy 181 in Gaskin just after 3:00 p.m.
When Walton County Fire Rescue (WCFR) firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a small metal shed on fire. Fire officials said the shed was serving as a home and was destroyed.
We are told that the fire started to spread into the woods nearby, but crews put the flames out and prevented the fire from reaching additional structures in the area.
Firefighters said one person was treated for minor injuries on scene by a WCFR paramedic, and the American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the displaced residents.
WCFR says the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
