Man shot from outside Jacksonville home in stable condition

 Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded early Sunday morning to a shooting at a home near Brookwood Forest Boulevard and Monument Road.

Officers arrived around 4:40 a.m. and found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm.

He was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to JSO.

According to the preliminary investigation, an unknown individual knocked on the front door of the residence but received no answer. Shortly afterward, someone fired several rounds through the rear sliding door, striking the victim.

Residents are cooperating with detectives, but the motive and shooter remain unknown.

Crime scene investigators are processing the area, and detectives are canvassing for surveillance footage and witnesses.
