A Clermont couple was arrested for battery after attacking each other during an argument in an apartment.
Officers responded to Advenir at Castle Hill apartments, located at 13600 Hartle Groves Pl., regarding an argument between 27-year-old RAH and 27-year-old JBH around 10:45 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Clermont Police Department.
As the officers approached the top floor of the building, they found H sitting on the staircase. He stated he had been bitten by H, his girlfriend of four years, during an argument. Other officers met with H inside the apartment, and she proceeded to give her account of what happened, the report said.
H stated she knocked on the apartment door, and once inside, they started arguing in the bathroom. They swung the shower curtain back and forth until H eventually shoved her into the bedroom. They tussled, ending up in the living room where he then shoved her into the TV, the report said.
The TV’s right side was damaged, with footprints and handprints all over the screen. They continued to fight and ended up on the floor where H pinned H to the ground with his arm and leg. She bit his arm as the struggle continued, the report said.
At one point, H’s necklace had been ripped off her neck. This was later found broken on the floor near the kitchen island. It was around this time that H left and law enforcement arrived, the report said.
When H explained what happened, he described it as a blur. The officer told him H’s statement, and he agreed that it started in the bathroom when she smacked a phone out of his hand. He also said they were indeed on the ground in the living room at one point, the report said.
The officers noticed he had fresh blood on his fingertips and bite marks on his arm, as well, the report said.
H was arrested and charged with simple battery (domestic). The New York native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
H was arrested for battery, too, and taken to jail. The New York native was released on her own recognizance and is responsible for appearing in court on Oct. 21.
