Woman armed with crowbar and boxcutter attacks man at park in Wildwood

A Wildwood woman was arrested after allegedly hitting a man with a crowbar, stabbing him with a box cutter and slashing his tires.

An officer responded to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Park for an alleged criminal mischief incident involving 36-year-old Y’T YM at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

Upon arrival, the officer met with the male victim who was visibly injured and distraught. He said M hit him with a crowbar and stabbed him with a box cutter during a dispute, causing him to fear for his life. His injuries were consistent with blunt trauma from a crowbar on his left shoulder and a stab wound on his left forearm, the report said.

M also slashed his driver’s side rear tire and the passenger front tire of his 2019 Chevy Colorado. He estimated the damage to be about $400, the report said.

A witness who saw parts of the altercation corroborated some of the victim’s story, including seeing M wielding a crowbar and brandishing a box cutter, the report said.

M later denied using a box cutter and said she only used the crowbar. She denied consent for the officer to search the vehicle, the report said.

She was arrested on charges of aggravated battery on person using a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and damage property (criminal mischief over $200 under $1,000). She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center with bond set at $16,000.
