A man was fatally shot on Saturday evening on Ribault Avenue.
Around 7:40 p.m., officers responded to the Ribault Avenue near Soutel Drive after receiving reports of a person shot.
When they arrived, they found an man lying in the road with a single gunshot wound to his chest. The man was transported to a local hospital but later died.
Detectives are working with the Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
JSO said multiple witnesses were detained and cooperating with investigators.
