A 20-year-old Crestview woman was arrested after allegedly striking an officer with a hammer on Friday.
Members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Crestview Police Department were conducting a lawful investigation at 129 Adkinson Drive in Crestview when V.K arrived on the scene, according to the report.
The report states that officers were in uniform and using their parked patrol vehicles for cover when K allegedly threw a cell phone and then a large hammer at the officers in an unprovoked manner.
The hammer struck one officer in the hand and the rifle he was holding, narrowly missing his head and neck area, according to the report.
K did not provide a statement due to her lack of cooperation, according to the report.
She was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery on an officer.
