A Wildwood woman was arrested for battery after allegedly punching her boyfriend during an argument made worse by alcohol.
Deputies responded to a call from the manager of Publix, located at 1685 N Hancock Rd, Minneola, around 10:55 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The manager advised that 27-year-old GMN and her boyfriend were arguing in the parking lot. She was smacking things on the ground, and the altercation seemed to be getting physical.
Upon arrival, the deputies searched the parking lot and found N’s red Kia. They were then flagged down by her boyfriend at the backside of the parking lot. He stated they were driving from the Wildwood area when they started arguing, the report said.
They had both been drinking earlier in the evening. He explained they then stopped in the parking lot where the argument escalated. N punched him in the head multiple times, and he showed the deputies a video of her clearly hitting him, the report said.
After the altercation, she walked away from the vehicle and was last seen in the parking lot near McDonald’s. Other deputies found her there sitting on the curb, the report said.
Her boyfriend did not want to press charges but confirmed they had been dating for about six months. They had been experiencing ongoing relationship issues, which were made worse by the drinking that night. He showed visible signs of distress and mentioned being struck “all over his head” by Nosal.
N later expressed frustration and made statements about her boyfriend’s behavior, including allegations that he had been driving her vehicle without a license and while intoxicated. She also mentioned he had taken her out to an unfamiliar area despite her needing to work the next day, the report said.
The Alaska native was ultimately arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). She was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
