Panama City Beach man killed in motorcycle accident on Thomas Drive

The Panama City Beach Police Department responded to a single-vehicle traffic crash involving a motorcycle in the area of 9401 Thomas Drive Saturday morning.

According to a news release, just before 2:30 a.m., officers located the driver, a 40-year-old man from Panama City Beach.

Authorities said preliminary investigation indicated the driver was traveling westbound on Thomas Drive at a high rate of speed when he left the roadway and struck a power pole.

The 40-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries, and life-saving measures were performed. However, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities confirmed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
