A woman was arrested Saturday morning after Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies say she attempted to hit another woman with her car.
The victim told deputies that DR, 25, hit her with her vehicle, causing her to jump on the hood of the car to prevent being run over.
The victim then said she held onto the windshield wiper, causing it to break off. Deputies say the victim still had the windshield wiper in her hand when they responded to the scene.
The incident took place in the front yard of a home belonging to a witness, who said he heard yelling and saw R trying to run over the victim.
Investigators say R and the victim have been dating for three years.
R was taken to the Alachua County Jail and is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
