A 39-year-old Wesley Chapel man died after an SUV hit him while he was walking along a road.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a car, possibly a Toyota 4Runner or similar, was driving around 6 p.m. Sunday on Boyette Road while heading South.
The 39-year-old man was walking on the road edge and just north of Vienna Woods Lane when the car hit him.
Authorities said that after the collision, the car fled the scene while the man was suffering from fatal injuries. The pedestrian was found dead by someone passing by just before 7 a.m. Monday.
Troopers are asking for anyone with information about this fatal incident to call *FHP (*347) or reach out to Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
