A Miami-Dade woman is facing several charges after a domestic incident that occurred on a busy highway.
Authorities said GM, 39, of Cutler Bay, was arrested at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday along the Palmetto Expressway near the exit for West Flagler Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, M was out with a friend from out of town when the two women were picked up by her husband from the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant located at 1395 NW 57th Ave. in west Miami-Dade.
Troopers said both Mand her friend were “heavily intoxicated” and when they started aggressively arguing in the car, her husband pulled his SUV over while on the Palmetto in an attempt to defuse the situation.
That’s when troopers said M kicked her husband in the face from the back seat of the SUV before getting out and jumping on the hood.
Soon after, authorities said M got off the hood and walked onto the busy highway, sitting down in one of the lanes and blocking oncoming traffic.
This was all captured on a live camera feed being monitored by the Florida Department of Transportation, according to an arrest form.
Troopers said the victim had redness on his face, but did not want to make any statements or have any photographs taken of his injuries.
M was arrested and taken to FHP Troop E headquarters for processing, but upon arrival, troopers said she refused to get out of the patrol car.
Authorities said M then became aggressive and began kicking the door and window of the patrol vehicle, so troopers attempted to restrain her. During this process, M continued to be aggressive and spit in the face of one of the troopers, so she had to be tased to be taken back under control, according to her arrest form.
M was then taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without further incident, troopers said.
She is facing several charges from FHP, including resisting an officer with violence, assault on a police officer, firefighter or intake officer, battery, disorderly intoxication and disorderly conduct.
She was granted a $3,800 bond on several of her charges, but bond is listed as “to be set” on the charge of assault on a police officer, firefighter or intake officer.
