JSO investigating two separate, unrelated Sunday shootings

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate, unrelated shootings that occurred Sunday morning.

The first incident happened around 11 a.m. on Kingsbury Street. Officers responded after reports of a person being shot. Investigators said a man got into a fight with another person, who pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspected shooter was taken into custody, according to JSO.

The second incident took place around 11:30 a.m. Investigators said a woman went to the hospital after she was grazed on her right leg during a domestic dispute inside a vehicle.

JSO said it is still early in both investigations and did not release additional details, but investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community.

Anyone with information that can help the investigations is urged to call JSO at 904-630-0500.
