A child was hit by a vehicle Thursday afternoon near Lely High School, and deputies are searching for the driver who left the scene.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 2:28 p.m. near the intersection of Texas Avenue and Trammel Street, just outside school, though not on school grounds.
A girl was hit by a vehicle that left the scene after the incident, deputies said. She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.
Investigators have not released a description of the vehicle but said an investigation is ongoing.
The victim’s age and the description of the suspect vehicle and driver have not yet been released.
