Fire erupts at home in northeast Miami-Dade

A fire erupted early Monday morning at a home in northeast Miami-Dade.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, the fire was reported just before 3:45 a.m. in the area of Northeast 147th Street and Ninth Avenue.

A Local 10 News crew was at the scene around 4 a.m. as fire rescue crews surrounded the home.

First responders confirmed that they arrived at the scene and found flames coming from the kitchen area of the home, with heavy smoke coming from the roof.

The fire has since been extinguished.

MDFR confirmed that two people were assessed at the scene and declined to be taken to the hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
