St. Johns County deputy seriously injured in crash on County Road 13 in Hastings

A St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy was seriously injured in a crash early Thursday in Hastings, according to officials.

SJSO said the single-vehicle crash happened just after 4 a.m. on County Road 13 South near Hub Bailey Road.

According to SJSO, the deputy sustained serious injuries, but his condition is non-life-threatening, according to JSO.

The deputy was transported by St. Johns County Fire Rescue to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

“Out of respect for the deputy and their family, their identity will not be released at this time,” SJSO wrote in a social media post.
