2 motorcyclists killed in Brevard County crash with SUV, troopers say

Two men driving motorcycles were killed in a crash with an SUV on Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened at Micco Road and Babcock Street around 11:34 a.m.

Two motorcycles, a Suzuki GSX1300RAL and a Honda CBR600RR, were traveling east on Micco Road, east of Babcock Street, according to a crash report.

The FHP said at the same time, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west on Micco Road, east of Babcock Street.

According to the FHP, the motorcycles were traveling above the posted speed limit.

Troopers said the SUV attempted to make a left turn into a private accessway and “entered the path” of the motorcycles.

As a result, both motorcycles struck the front of the SUV, causing both motorcycles to run off of the roadway right and catch fire.

According to the report, both motorcyclists were thrown from their vehicles and into a ditch. The drivers, identified as a 24-year-old Barefoot Bay man and a 19-year-old Barefoot Bay man, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the SUV, identified as a 71-year-old woman from Pennsylvania and a 79-year-old Wyoming man, respectively, suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
