Woman riding e-scooter killed in hit-and-run crash, JSO says

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash while riding an electric scooter Thursday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. in the 6300 block of Jammes Road. The woman was heading southbound on an e-scooter when she was struck by a vehicle also heading southbound.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect fled in his vehicle without stopping or giving the woman aid. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash marks as the 23rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
