5 hospitalized in multi-vehicle crash on I-75 in Marion County

Officials say five people were taken to the hospital due to a crash on Interstate 75 in northern Marion County on Thursday afternoon.

Marion County Fire Rescue officials say the crash involved four vehicles on I-75 South, just south of Micanopy. One of the vehicles rolled over, left the interstate, and entered the treeline.

Of the five patients, firefighters say two were children. The conditions of the injured have not been released.

Due to the crash, the northbound lanes on the interstate were blocked. Around 4:30 p.m., one lane was opened to traffic.
