Another man has been arrested following a viral confrontation involving a 13-year-old riding an e-bike inside the gated Lotus community in Boca Raton.
According to a criminal complaint from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, B was arrested on Wednesday and faces charges of robbery by sudden snatching and battery.
The affidavit states that B is seen multiple times on video pulling the 13-year-old boy and restraining him against his will. The report also alleges B withheld the teenager’s phone and made no attempt to return it.
CBS12 previously reported on a viral video that appeared to show the first suspect, S, confronting the teen, throwing a water bottle, and taking the boy’s cellphone during an argument over alleged reckless e-bike riding inside the gated Boca Raton neighborhood. Parents and neighbors said the situation began after the child was seen riding an e-bike in the neighborhood.
The confrontation sparked widespread debate online and within the community over safety concerns involving children on e-bikes — and whether the adults’ response went too far.
