7 hurt, including 1 child, after cement truck, taxi collide on I-595 offramp

Seven people were hurt ― five seriously ― in a crash near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday afternoon, first responders said.

It happened on an offramp of Interstate 595 onto Interstate 95.

Video from Sky 10, taken at around 3:15 p.m., showed a cement truck and a taxicab with significant damage.

One of the injured victims is a child, according to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

A BSFR spokesperson said five seriously-injured patients, including the child, were being taken to the trauma center at Broward Health Medical Center.

Two adults suffered minor injuries, officials said.

Officials did not provide additional information on the victims’ conditions as of around 3:25 p.m. Friday.
