A 90-year-old Boca Raton woman died Thursday afternoon after deputies say she was struck by an SUV moments after stepping into the roadway outside her home.
According to a crash report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, an 83-year-old woman was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee around a left-hand curve in the 15900 block of Planters Point Drive in Boca Raton at 1:09 p.m. Thursday.
At the same time, 90-year-old Sandra Friedman stepped from her driveway into the roadway and was struck by the SUV as it rounded the curve.
F was thrown to the ground and complained of hip pain before being taken to Delray Medical Center for treatment.
Deputies said F died a short time later at 2:35 p.m.
