A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a train on Tuesday, according to the Cocoa Police Department.
The incident forced authorities to close State Road 520 in both directions at U.S. 1 and Blake Avenue. Police said the crash involved an FEC freight train.
Patrol officers and traffic homicide investigators are working the scene and directing traffic in the area.
Drivers are being asked to use Dixon Boulevard as an alternate route.
