Person found dead after RV fire in Flagler County

One person was found dead after a recreational vehicle fire late Tuesday night, according to the Bunnell Police Department.

A neighbor called 911 at 11:47 p.m. to report that an RV was engulfed in flames on Lake Drive in Bunnell.

Responding officers, sheriff’s deputies and firefighters arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

After the blaze was extinguished, responders discovered the remains of a dead person inside the RV, according to police.

Bunnell PD said the victim has not been positively identified because of the condition of the remains. The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office are assisting with the investigation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
