A man is recovering after being rescued from a house fire in Wimauma Sunday evening.
According to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, crews received multiple 911 calls at 7:56 p.m. regarding a house fire on 12th Street, with reports that someone was possibly trapped inside.
Crews arrived on scene and were met with heavy fire conditions coming from the house.
Firefighters initiated a search-and-rescue operation inside the home and found a man within five minutes of arrival.
Crews safely removed the man from the home, and he was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition, HCFR said. There were no other people inside the home.
Following the rescue, crews focused on suppressing the fire and brought it under control in less than 20 minutes.
No firefighters were injured during this incident, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
